Konokono Beach Resort and Isaraya Luxury Overwater Villas

The resort is set on a very large and peaceful property, with just a few rooms, which made it feel wonderfully private and exclusive. We initially stayed in a beachfront bungalow, then changed to a garden villa on our second day. The garden villa was spacious and beautifully designed, definitely felt luxurious than the beachfront rooms. Although the beach room is much nicer for a beach holiday. The breakfast and dinner buffets were excellent, with a wide variety of options, and the live entertainment during dinner added a great touch. Parking was very easy, and the beach itself was clean and calm, with almost no street vendors, which made for a relaxing environment. The sea was also very swimmable with minimal tide.

I cannot fault this Resort for myself and my 2 teenage children. The staff were wonderful, the setting beautiful, the food excellent. We were a little anxious having read the reviews but as of 23 Feb 2025 it was a true delight. Not too many people, incredibly calm, Masai tribes men as security who were a joy at every encounter. I have been to many hotels in my 58 years and this ticked all my boxes for an honest unfussy pleasure.

From the moment we arrived at Konokono Resort, we were utterly captivated by the breathtaking views and tranquil atmosphere. The location is absolutely perfect—peaceful, relaxing, and a true escape from the stresses of everyday life. The private beach and various unique villas (including the amazing water villa) are nothing short of spectacular, offering the ultimate in seclusion and serenity, making it an ideal spot for complete relaxation. Another standout feature of our stay was the fine dining experience and great selection of food. What truly elevated our experience was the outstanding Konokono team. The management, in particular, went above and beyond to ensure our stay was flawless. They were always approachable, warm, and genuinely invested in creating unforgettable experiences for their guests. Whether it was assisting with a special request or simply checking in to ensure everything was perfect, their dedication to hospitality was clear and truly made all the difference. One thing that particularly impressed us was how accommodating the resort was with our baby. The team was incredibly thoughtful, providing us with the necessary amenities and making sure we had everything we needed to keep our little one comfortable. Before our trip, I had come across concerns about power outages in other reviews. However, after experiencing it for myself, I can confidently clarify that these outages are a result of issues with the island’s main power supply and are beyond the control of any resort (feel free to research this for more context). What impressed us most is that we never felt the impact at Konokono—whenever there was a disruption, their efficient backup generator kicked in immediately, ensuring that our experience was uninterrupted. A special mention must be made of the outstanding service from General Manager Mr. Joab, Restaurant Maestro Mohamed, and Reservations Specialist Rosemary.

So first of all after reading a lot of reviews a was expecting a really really horibble road to the hotel from the main road like a good 15 min. It was really not bad at all .... We were greeted at reception by Glory who was very kind and helpfull throughout our stay. We also had the pleasure of meeting Moses & Thomas who carted our things to our over water villa and were a pleasure to speak with during our stay. Our room was amazing! Everything and more. It is very large and well equiped we were worried about the boats passing by after reading reviews on here about it however we only experiance it a few times mostly early morning fishing boats and sunset tourist boats. The over water villas have the option to eat at the main restaurant or at the private restaurant on the dock. James was an excellent host and the food was excellent. My husband is a picky eater and they accomadated all of his requestes as well as mine being a vegetarian who is lactos intolerant.

This was my second time staying in the overwater villas at Konoo Konoo Resort, and once again, it exceeded all expectations! From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with warmth and genuine hospitality that truly sets this place apart. The overwater villas are nothing short of spectacular, offering breathtaking views that make you feel like you’ve stepped into a postcard. Waking up to the serene sound of waves and watching the sunset from my private deck felt like pure paradise. The food at Konoo Konoo is exceptional, with a wide range of delicious dishes that cater to every taste. Each meal is a delightful experience, and the quality is consistently top-notch. What truly makes this resort special, though, is the staff. They are the heart and soul of Konoo Konoo, always friendly, polite, and incredibly accommodating. They genuinely go above and beyond to make your stay unforgettable, turning the impossible into reality with a smile. If you are looking for a peaceful getaway to unwind, relax, and connect with nature, this is the place for you. The tranquility and beauty of the surroundings create the perfect setting to recharge and find inner peace. I’m already planning my next holiday for 2026, and there’s no doubt that I’ll be returning to Konoo Konoo Resort. Thank you for another amazing experience!

The resort was amazing, well maintained and had all the necessary amenities. The food was good and the kitchen staff were very helpful in accommodating our change in requirements due to dietary constraints. The staff were friendly and helpful. Overall the resort did not disappoint and was an amazing experience.

The place was exquisite from the time you get in until you leave. The staff are very happy to have you, they'll smile at you, greet you, offer help even beyond what's paid for. The food is amazing; a buffet breakfast, expert cooked a la carte menu, 5 course dinner, amazing cocktails and all of them made ready in time. There are small pools infront of every room for a chill dip, the pools at Isaraya water villas are a little bigger, the place is cozy and the views are breathtaking. The main infinity pool perfectly overlooks the clean white sandy beach at the clear blue ocean waterfront. There is nothing bad to write about this place. Honestly!

The experience at Konokono was amazing from start to finish. The staff made us feel like we were at home and tailored to every request. Rosemary was extremely helpful and a pleasure to deal with. Mary was a wonderful waitress and the manager, Joab, was attentive and helpful throughout. We stayed in two different rooms during our stay - the beach pavilion was beautiful and tranquil and the over water villa was exceptional. The hotel was slightly off the beaten track but if you are looking for a quiet and beautiful beach and resort to relax and unwind, it is absolutely perfect.
